Today we start a series of articles devoted to presenting and analyzing the legal correlation between GDPR and fiscal law.

The GDPR legislation contains provisions that reverberate on other areas of law. One of the relevant examples is the fiscal law.

Typically, invoices issued by any merchant contain in the lower-left corner the name and SSN or the name and number / ID series of the individual who issued the invoice.

Such data falls under the category of “personal data” and, as a consequence, the company receiving the invoice must ensure that this “data” are protected by the GDPR Regulation.

More specifically, under the GDPR Regulation, the invoice receiving company must have a written policy governing how invoices are received, used and stored, the designation of persons who can access the invoices (because they contain the personal data mentioned above), the invoices flow within the company etc.
