Law 121/2014, in Article 9, sets out certain requirements for companies related to the need to perform a power audit. Legal provisions are applicable to the companies that have ownership on buildings or production facilities.

Thus, companies, excluding SMEs, that annually utilize a quantity of energy less than 1000 tons of oil equivalent per year have to prepare every four years a power audit conducted by an authorized entity. Based on this audit, measures to improve power efficiency are set up and implemented.

In addition to the audit requirement, these companies must fill in the declaration of total annual power consumption and submit it to the Department for Energy Efficiency by 30 April each year.

If companies are utilizing an amount of power greater than 1000 tons of oil equivalent per year, they must fill in the declaration of total annual power consumption and questionnaire of power analysis for power consumer and submit them to the Department for Energy Efficiency by 30 April each year.
